Course takers will gain practical knowledge of how gift and estate tax rules impact everyday client conversations. While not providing tax or legal advice, participants learn to understand how these topics affect clients and when professional referrals are appropriate. The course covers federal gift and estate tax thresholds, annual gift exclusions, step-up in basis for inherited assets, and key FINRA rules. Through real-world scenarios and interactive activities, learners practice identifying red flags, providing client-aligned recommendations, and maintaining professional boundaries to contribute to informed, compliant estate and gift planning conversations.
