Quest CE’s Washington NAIC Annuity Training Course Approved

MILWAUKEE –March 28, 2012 – Quest CE, premier provider of insurance continuing education and FINRA firm element training, is proud to announce the approval of their Washington 4-hour NAIC Annuity Training Course.

The Washington Office of Insurance Commissioner (OIC) adopted new regulation pertaining to training requirements for annuity business. The regulation is based on the current NAIC model, and is effective March 29, 2012. One of the most important highlights of the new regulation is the required completion of a one-time, four hour annuity suitability training course.

Those who already hold a valid Washington producer license with a life line of authority must:

  • Complete the approved Washington four hour annuity suitability course between March 29, 2012 and September 29, 2012, or 
  • Complete an NAIC annuity suitability course in another state before September 29, 2012, and 
  • Provide proof that you have completed an NAIC annuity suitability course to the insurance company you work with.

Those who do not a have a valid Washington producer license must:

  • Obtain a producer license with the life line of authority.
  • Complete an approved four hour annuity suitability course prior to selling annuity products in this state.
