Quest CE Gives Back During Holiday Season

MILWAUKEE – November 27, 2013 – From hosting food and bake drives to volunteering at the local community soup kitchen, Quest CE has partnered with several non-profit organizations this holiday season to provide resources and services to those in need.

This November, Quest CE once again teamed up with the Hunger Task Force, a non-profit, anti-hunger public policy organization, to host a corporate food drive. This year’s drive aimed to bring the experience of a full holiday meal to those who may otherwise go without. As such, varying corporations in the community were tasked with collecting traditional Thanksgiving-style food items. While other organizations donated items such as canned green beans or mashed potatoes, Quest CE donated over 548 pounds of cornbread. Combined with local supermarket’s turkey donations, these items are to be sorted and distributed to families in Southeastern Wisconsin.

Additionally, Quest CE employees spent the month of November volunteering at the Unity Community Soup Kitchen, helping prepare and serve meals to local community members. A majority of the produce being used to create those meals was provided by the Hunger Task Force’s 139-acre farm. Coincidentally, this summer, Quest CE employees volunteered at the farm, helping plant and harvest produce for the express purpose of supplementing this and other local food pantries and meal programs.

Quest CE has also signed up to support The Salvation Army’s Toys for Tots Program, a charity that provides low-income parents with the opportunity to “shop” for toys that have been donated and collected by the community. Quest CE volunteers will assist parents in making toy selections for over 20,000 children. Moreover, Quest CE will be working in correlation with the Bay View Community Center to provide baked goods to homebound elderly adults this holiday season.

Quest CE is dedicated to engaging, participating and recognizing the needs of its neighboring communities.  As a result, every quarter Quest CE encourages participation in the community through its “Quest CE Cares” initiative, which offers paid time off to employees that participate in the company’s local outreach events.
